Wilmington releases interactive map of CSX road closures

WILMINGTON — Earlier this week CSX, the railroad company, closed nearly 30 different train track crossings in the area catching the majority of residents and city officials off guard.

Repairs are underway for the crossings and there is no set timetable for completion. The City of Wilmington has created an interactive map showing the current intersections closed and their status.

The work was originally planned to take two to five days, but with the breakdown of an asphalt plant, the timetable remains unknown.

According to the city’s website, the status for the following intersections as of Friday morning is below.

Open intersections

  • 13th Street – TEMPORARILY (still more work to complete)
  • 16th Street
  • 17th Street
  • 30th Street
  • Clay Street
  • Covil Avenue
  • Forest Hills Drive
  • Henry Street
  • Market Street
  • Mercer Avenue
  • Oleander Drive
  • Princess Place Drive
  • Wrightsville Avenue

Closed intersections

  • 4th Street
  • 5th Street
  • 6th Street
  • 7th Street
  • 8th Street
  • 9th Street
  • 10th Street
  • 12th Street
  • Colonial Drive
  • Marstellar Street
  • Martin Street
  • Wetsig Road
