WILMINGTON — For those looking to escape the family gathering and hit the streets in search of something to eat or drink, we’ve gathered a list of what’s open and closed on Christmas day in Wilmington.
If you’re not the sort who enjoys cooking on your day off, don’t stress, there’s a handful of restaurants in the area (and a few in Carolina Beach) that will keep their doors open. Keep in mind that many Chinese restaurants are open.
And while most of the major supermarkets — Harris Teeter, Lowes, and Trader Joe’s — are shut down for the day, Food Lion and a few small, specialty shops remain open.
It’s no surprise that the state’s ABC liquor stores close down on Christmas (and the day after), so here’s to having enough booze on-hand to keep up your holiday cheer. And the large retail and home improvement stores are closed for the day, so take a breather and put your feet up – push those home projects to 2019.
