WILMINGTON — Break out the tissues, Grammy-Award-winner Sarah McLachlan will perform in downtown Wilmington at the Cape Fear Community College’s Wilson Center early next year.

The Canadian singer-songwriter has recorded nine studio albums, sold over 30 million records, won numerous Grammy and Juno awards, founded the Lilith Fair tour, and has supported a host of charitable efforts.

Still, despite her impressive musical and philanthropic career, McLachlan may be best known by some for her two-minute video for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), featuring the song “Angel.” (A very self-aware McLachlan appeared in a parody of these videos during a 2014 Audi Superbowl commercial.)

McLachlan will take the stage at the Wilson Center on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for Sarah McLachlan start at $46, plus taxes and fees, and will go on sale to the public on Friday, Dec. 14, at 10 a.m. online and 2 p.m. in person or via telephone.

To buy online, visit capefearstage.com or wilsoncentertickets.com; to buy in-person or by phone, visit Ticket Central at the Wilson Center, or call 910-362-7999.

The Wilson Center is located at 703 N. Third St. Ticket Central, located at the Wilson Center, is open from Monday to Friday from 2 to 6 p.m.
