WILMINGTON—The ’90s cult classic “Empire Records” was filmed in downtown Wilmington, and now you can watch it right in the same spot that hosted the coming of age flick.

Rebellion NC, formerly Buzz’s Roost, served as a set in 1995 for the film, which features Liv Tyler, Renée Zellweger, Ethan Embry and more.

On Set Cinema is presenting a free screening of “Empire Records” on June 9, from 7 to 10 p.m.

Kenny Caperton, owner of On Set Cinema, asked guests to “dress ’90s and come early to eat dinner at Rebellion” in a release.

Caperton’s ongoing projects offer screenings of movies at the location they were filmed. In July, On Set Cinema is screening “I Know What You Did Last Summer” in Burgaw and in August, viewers can catch “The Strangers” in Florence, South Carolina.

More information on the screening can be found on the event’s Facebook page.
