
WILMINGTON—Memorial Day might be the unofficial start to summer, but springtime rain is expected to remain this holiday weekend according to the National Weather Service.
After having a record-setting amount of rainfall last weekend, the weather forecast continues to predict a rainy week and weekend.
Beginning Thursday the National Weather Service is calling for thunderstorms and showers, with a 50-percent likelihood.
Friday will see some relief to the weather and is predicted to remain partly sunny, but rainfall is again predicted Saturday.

Sunday and Memorial Day the National Weather Service says thunderstorms and showers are likely with 60-percent chance of precipitation.
