Here are 5 events you can attend with mom this Mother’s Day weekend

Instead of a gift, you could spend time with mom on Mother's Day. There are several brunches and events planned this weekend in the region to honor mothers

WILMINGTON—Need something for mom on Mother’s Day? Instead of a gift, there are plenty of events to spend quality time.

There are several Mother’s Day events planned in the region, from brunches to jazz.

We’ve compiled Mother’s Day-related events below:

Mother’s Day Sunday Jazz + Mimosas at Fermental – Fermental Beer & Wine is hosting live music in their beer garden on Mother’s Day. Starting at noon, the bottle shop will open up a self-service mimosa bar to prepare for live music and a food truck, which will begin at 3 p.m.  No reservation is required and the event is free to attend. At 7250 Market Street, the event will last until 6 p.m.

Wilmington Police Department’s mother-daughter Self-Defense class – Hosted by WPD, a mother-daughter self-defense class next Tuesday, May 15 at 6 p.m. The class is free to attend, but space is limited. Participants must be at least 12 years old to register. The class will be held at Halyburton Park at 4099 South 17th St.  Wilmington Police asks participants to bring water and wear loose-fitting clothing to the class. To register, call 910-343-3950.

FIT4MOM’s Mamabration – On Saturday, FIT4MOM will be hosting a workout at the USS Battleship North Carolina. The first 100 moms will be given “swag bags” after gates open at 9 a.m. The free event includes a workout class followed by “snacks, chair massages, bounce houses, mimosas, music and demos.”

Mother’s Day Brunch at CAM – Cameron Art Museum is hosting three separate Mother’s Day seatings on Sunday. At 10 a.m., 12 and 2 p.m., CAM will provide a brunch buffet. The price to register is $34.95 and $12.95 for children. The buffet menu includes fruit, an omelet bar, carrot cake, honey roasted ham and more. To check out the full Mother’s Day brunch menu, visit CAM’s website. Reservations are required and space is limited to the event. The cost to register includes admission to the museum.

Free skate day at Jelly Beans – Jelly Beans is hosting a free skate day on Sunday in honor of Mother’s Day. The skating rink is offering free entry with regular skate rentals at $1.50 and roller blades at $2.50. Located at 5216 Oleander Drive, Jelly Beans will be open from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
