What’s open in Wilmington Easter Weekend?

WILMINGTON — Friday marks the start to the Easter holiday weekend, which means closings for several locations around the region.

New Hanover County

All county government offices will be closed Friday, all county libraries will be closed Friday, Saturday, Sunday. The New Hanover County Landfill will be open Friday and Saturday.

CFPUA offices will be closed Friday and re-open Monday.


City offices are closed Friday in observance of Good Friday, but trash services will remain unaffected. Wave Transit will not operate Easter Sunday.

Carolina Beach

Town offices in Carolina Beach will be closed Friday and reopen Monday.

Wrightsville Beach

All town offices in Wrightsville Beach will be closed Friday.

Pender County

Pender County offices and libraries will be closed Friday through Monday, and re-open Tuesday. The Pender County Landfill and convince center will be on normal operating hours.

Brunswick County

All county offices and libraries are closed Friday. Brunswick County Libraries will remain closed for the weekend. The Brunswick County Landfill will also be closed

Grocery and retial stores

Publix Super Markets – Closed Easter Sunday

Harris Teeter – Open regular hours

Food Lion – Open regular hours

Walmart – Open regular hours

Target – Closed Easter Sunday
