WILMINGTON — Cold weather is making its way back to the Cape Fear Region and the National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for Pender, New Hanover, and Brunswick Counties.
Despite early warm temperatures that hit the region in February, the cold weather is expected to hang around until 8 a.m. Friday.
Temperatures are expected to hover around the 30s and upper 20s, according to the National Weather Service and sensitive plants and other vegetation might be damaged by the cold.
Friday will not be the last of the potentially damaging cold weather, another frost or freeze will be possible next week on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
