WILMINGTON — Two major bridges between Leland and Wilmington will experience lane closures this week.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation will perform inspections on the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge where U.S. Highways 17/76/421 cross over the Cape Fear Bridge. The work will cause intermittent lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day from Tuesday, Feb. 20 until Thursday, Feb. 22.
NCDOT workers will also inspect the Thomas Rhodes Bridge, which takes U.S. Highways 17/421 and North Carolina Highway 133 over the Cape Fear River and onto Eagle Island, just north of the U.S.S. North Carolina. Inspections will close lanes from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 19.
