Update: Hit-and-run: Wilmington police searching for suspect who intentionally ran over woman

Update: Wilmington Police Department report Ellison turned herself into authorities. She is being charged with  attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony hit and run with injury, reckless driving with wanton disregard, a probation violation and child abuse. Her bond is set at $1 million.

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department is searching for a suspect in connection with a hit-and-run that occurred Monday afternoon.

According to Wilmington Police, officers arrived at the 1400 block of Willard Street around 1:15 p.m. Monday in response to reports of a woman being hit by a car.

According to the WPD, a Facebook live video of the incident showed Shadasia Ellison, 19, of Wilmington, intentionally hitting the victim, Tameka Cooper, 19, of Wilmington. Cooper suffered a minor leg injury.

A child was in the car with Ellison during the incident.

Ellison has been charged with reckless driving and felony hit-and-run.
