BRUNSWICK COUNTY — The Brunswick County School system has announced it will close its public schools tomorrow to ensure the safety of its students and staff due to reports of inclement weather.
The National Weather Service currently has a wind chill advisory in effect in New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender and surrounding counties.
Residents may expect winds as low as five above 0 to 10 above zero degrees Fahrenheit according to the National Weather Service.
A winter storm watch goes into effect until Wednesday at 6 a.m., and Brunswick County Schools have preemptively made the call to close its schools to prepare for the anticipated weather.
New Hanover County Schools and Pender County Schools have not yet announced a potential closure.
