WILMINGTON — A Wilmington GameStop store was robbed at gunpoint last night, according to the Wilmington Police Department.
The store clerk was in the process of closing the store when a man with a gun entered the building, demanded money, and then locked her in a storage closet, according to WPD Communications Specialist Jennifer Dandron.
WPD officers responded to the store located at 334 South College Road shortly afterwards, around 10 p.m.
“The suspect, a black male about 5’5”-5’8” and weighing between 150-170 pounds, fled the store on foot with two Xbox One Xs, three Nintendo Switches, one Playstation 4 Pro and cash. The suspect was wearing black shoes, black jeans, a grey hoodie with the hood pulled up and a black coat over the hoodie. His face was also covered with a bandanna or scarf, and he wore gloves,” Dandron said.
GameStop has the serial numbers of the items stolen from the store which will be used to help track the property, Dandron said. Also, if an individual is found in possession of the stolen property, charges can be filed against that person, she said.
WPD is asking for anyone with information to contact them at 910-343-3609.
