Wilmington police search for man who allegedly tried to kidnap woman on Heidi Drive

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, between 30 and 35 years of age, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with a medium build, dark skin and a mustache.

WILMINGTON – Wilmington Police are looking for a Hispanic male suspect who tried abduct a female around 9 a.m. Thursday morning near the 500 block of Heidi Drive.

In a Facebook post, police stated the woman said she was walking down Heidi Drive toward Wood Dale Drive when the suspect drove up behind her.

“After a few minutes she heard the door on the vehicle slam and realized the suspect was right behind her,” the post states. “The suspect grabbed her by the shoulder, however she was able to kick the suspect and get away.”

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, between 30 and 35 years of age, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with a medium build, dark skin and a mustache.

He was wearing a sweat shirt and jeans and police say he spoke limited English.
