SOUTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA — Schools in Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender counties will all operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday.
Citing the developing storm system – which may develop into Tropical Storm Irma – all schools in the tri-county area will open on a two-hour delay. All after-school activities are currently still set to run as scheduled.
Brunswick County schools may implement additional delay depending on the weather, according to a release. Additional delays will be communicated by 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, Aug 29.

New Hanover County is currently under tropical storm watch, with wind gusts of up to 50 mph possible, and between 3 and 6 inches of rain. Parts of Pender County are under a more severe Tropical Storm warning.
