
Update: Missing Wilmington woman found dead in Beaufort County
Update: A Silver Alert has been issued for Debra Cavenaugh Blades by the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons. She is believed to suffer from “dementia or some other cognitive impairment,” according to an emergency bulletin from the center.
WILMINGTON — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing woman last seen Saturday.
Debra Cavenaugh Blades, 61, was last seen driving a 2012 white Chevy Equinox with black surf racks. The vehicle should have a North Carolina tag of CAB5862.
Blades is described as a white female, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 190 lbs. She has shoulder length reddish brown hair, brown eyes, and is medium complexion.
Police say she may be experiencing a confused or altered mental state. She is considered endangered.
She was last seen in the area of Stonington Drive, wearing blue denim shorts and a white T-shirt.
