Knife-wielding robber remains at large, Wilmington police ask for help

WILMINGTON — The Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance after a week-long search for an armed robber.

The as-of-yet unidentified man robbed the Kangaroo Express near the intersection of Oleander Drive and Dawson and Wooster streets, according to the Wilmington Police Department (the store has since been bought by Texas-based Circle-K). The man robbed a clerk at knife-point at approximately 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23.

The man was seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the words “hustle streets,” and was described as being about six feet tall and 200 pounds.
