WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Sharks are currently seeking host families for the upcoming 2017 season.

Why should you become a host family? Without host families the Sharks season would not exist. By becoming  a host family, you will be playing a very important role in your player’s summer experience by providing them with a “home away from home.”

During your player’s time in the Coastal Plain League, they will be immersed in a new environment, away from their family and friends. The Sharks expect families to help their players settle in and become situated with everything that Wilmington has to offer.

This is a great opportunity for your family to help the development of these fine young men – as baseball players and as people.

Host families honestly won’t see their player that much. They have over 25 home games and an equal amount of away games. They will get home late and most likely sleep in. These are college kids after all. It’s a sleep, eat, play ball schedule that will continue throughout the summer.

The Sharks will provide dinner for the players after the game, but the players will need access to your pantry and laundry machines. Players will provide their own transportation. We cannot guarantee a particular player or position but we will do our best if requests are received.

Host families will receive season tickets to all 2017 home games, as well as any playoff games that are held here at Buck Hardee Stadium.
