WILMINGTON — A Wilmington man has been arrested in connection with three armed robberies that occurred within three hours Monday night.
Jeremy Matthew Turner, 29, was arrested by officers with the Leland Police Department on Tuesday morning, following an investigation, according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay.
Turner has been charged with the armed robbery of the Scotchman Located at 901 S. Third St., Lindsay said. Police say the suspect jumped behind the counter and grabbed money from the cash register while threatening the store clerk at knifepoint. The suspect then fled the business in a vehicle.
He is also a suspect in two other armed robberies that occurred Monday night, one at CVS, 3302 Market St., at 9 p.m. and another at a CVS, 4600 Oleander Drive, at about 11 p.m., Lindsay said. The suspect in both robberies walked behind the counter and threatened the store clerk with a knife, then drove away from the scene.
No one was injured in any of the robberies.
Turner has been charged with counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon. Lindsay said he was booked at the Brunswick County Detention Facility on Tuesday morning under a $300,000 secured bond.
