KURE BEACH – It may still be August, but Kure Beach is already preparing for the holidays.

The town is looking for vendors for its annual Holiday Market, held at Ocean Front Park on the weekends before and after Thanksgiving. Applications will be accepted until Sept. 30, and vendors will be notified by Oct. 12 if they have been accepted.

Space in the market is limited. Applicants will be screened to ensure there is a variety of products and to make sure items being sold are handmade. Artisans and crafters interested in selling their goods can apply online, or may pick up applications at Kure Beach Town Hall, 117 Settlers Lane.

In December, the town will also be hosting its annual Kure Beach Christmas Show at Ocean Front Park. The show will run on the park’s stage on the weekend of Dec. 9 through 11. Volunteers are needed to perform in the show as well as help out with backstage work, such as sound and lights. Those interested in participating can contact Tammy Ebersole at tammy.ebersole@yahoo.com.

Volunteers are also needed to help plan Kure Beach’s 70th anniversary celebration, which will be held in April 2017. Subcommittees are being created to help organize activities and do other planning for the special event. Those interested in helping out can contact the town’s recreation manager, Nikki Keely, at parks@tokb.org.
