Detectives with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a suspect who robbed a Bojangles restaurant in the Ogden area early Friday morning.
The restaurant’s manager was opening the business at 7155 Market St. at about 4 a.m. when she was approached by a masked man and held at gunpoint, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer.
The suspect forced the manager inside the restaurant and demanded cash from the business, Brewer said. The suspect then locked the manager in the freezer and left the store with cash. The manager pushed the freezer door open and then called 911.
The suspect is described as a 6-foot tall black male, Brewer said. He wore black jeans, a grey hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask and black gloves during the robbery.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office at 910-798-4162 or submit a tip on the sheriff’s office website.
