The Jackson Browne concert has been rescheduled.

Cape Fear Community College’s Humanities and Fine Arts Center announced Thursday that the iconic singer/songwriter will now perform at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1. Browne postponed his original Jan. 9 set due to illness.

Ticket holders will be contacted directly about the new concert date. Any new seats made available will go on sale to the public at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 1.

Known for his well-crafted lyrics, Browne has been honored with induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2007.  Beyond his music, Browne is known for his advocacy on behalf of the environment, human rights and arts education. He’s a co-founder of the groups Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE) and Nukefree.org.
