Detectives suspect the death of a 30-year-old man in south Wilmington may be linked to a shooting.
The body of Rashaun Akeem McKoy, of Wilmington, was found in the 300 block of Westchester Road at about 3 a.m. Wednesday, according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay.
“McKoy was discovered by an officer who was investigating an earlier report of shots fired in that area. EMS responded to the scene and Mr. McKoy was pronounced dead at the scene,” Lindsay said.
Detectives suspect his death may be linked to the Wednesday morning shots fired call. Details about the shooting have not been released by the police department.
Detectives are investigating McKoy’s death as a homicide that could be drug-related, Lindsay said. Their investigation is ongong.
