Residents in the Wilmington area will have the chance to weigh in on a proposed interchange at an Eastwood Road intersection.

The N.C. Department of Transportation (N.C. DOT) will be hosting a public meeting seeking input from area residents about proposed improvements to the busy intersection at Military Cutoff and Eastwood roads, according to a notice from the City of Wilmington.

The N.C. DOT is considering the installation of an interchange at the intersection and is evaluating street-level as well as elevated designs for the intersection, such as the one located at the interchange of Market Street and College Road.

The meeting will be held at St. Andrews on the Sound (St. Andrews Episcopal Church) at 101 Arlie Road from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Transportation officials will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about the proposed improvements.

The project is part of the state’s 2016-2025 transportation funding plan, which has designated $25 million for the proposed interchange.

Residents who are not able to attend the meeting can submit comments by Oct. 13. Contact Kim Gillespie at 919-707-6023 or by email klgillespie@ncdot.gov.
