Vice-narcotics detectives with the Carolina Beach Police Department arrested a 69-year-old man Wednesday on multiple drug charges.
According to a notice from the police department, John R. Lunsford, of Snapper Lane in Carolina Beach, was arrested after an ongoing investigation that included purchasing narcotics from his home.
Drug agents executed a search warrant at Lunsford’s home in the 1400 block of Snapper Lane and seized cash, prescription medication and a weapon, according to Detective S. Hettinger.
Lunsford has been charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule IV controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, according to jail records.
He was taken to the New Hanover County jail and placed under a $5,000 bond.
