Wilmington police responded to several incidents reported over the weekend. According to police spokeswoman Linda Rawley, the following incidents were reported between Friday, Jan. 3, and Sunday, Jan. 5.
- An employee of Coastal Beverage Company parked his tractor trailer in the 600 block of Red Cross Street to unload beer to the business. A suspect opened the rear of the trailer and took three cases of beer. A witness reported seeing the suspect take the beer and identified him as Michael Hicks. Officers located Hicks, arrested him and charged him with breaking and entering to an automobile and larceny.
- An armed robbery was reported at 2:49 a.m. Saturday on Audubon Boulevard in Wilmington. The victim reported the suspect had given him a ride from the Ramada Inn on Market Street. As he exited the vehicle, a white man pulled a handgun on him and stole his wallet and cellphone. The suspects were described as two white females, one white male and one black male. They drove a gray Ford Focus. The investigation is ongoing.
- Akeem Antwan Tindall is wanted for possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed weapon, and resisting, delaying and obstructing public officers. Officers responded at 8:19 p.m. Sunday to 491 South College Road in reference to reports about a man walking around in his underwear. Officers found the suspect behind the bushes near El Cero Grande restaurant. Tindall allegedly ran from police. Officers believed he was picked up by his brother and taken to Campus Edge Apartments. Officers found Tindall’s wallet behind B’ Dobo Mongolian Grill and were able to identify him as the suspect. Witnesses reported seeing Tindall in the area earlier in the evening with his pants around his ankles and waving a handgun. Police located a silver .38 caliber handgun. The investigation and search for the suspect are ongoing.
