NEW HANOVER COUNTY — As the new year kicks off, the final deadline is looming for county property tax bills.
All tax bills were mailed Sept. 1 and can be paid without interest until Jan. 5. Property owners with taxes held in escrow should ensure taxes were paid through their mortgage company.
“We want to help residents avoid having to pay interest on taxes, so we ask that you reach out to us before taxes become delinquent,” county tax administrator Allison Snell said in a press release, “so we can set up alternate payment arrangements if needed.”
Commissioners voted on New Hanover County’s tax rate ahead of the 2022-2023 budget. It’s 45.5 cents per $100, with the fire services tax rate for property owners in the unincorporated county set at 7.25 cents per $100.
Residents in unincorporated areas also are being charged a stormwater fee, listed as a second line item for applicable properties.
The tax bills also include all municipality’s rates in the county.
- Carolina Beach: 21.5 cents per $100
- City of Wilmington: 39.5 cents per $100
- City of Wilmington Municipal Services District: 6.47 cents per $100
- Wrightsville Beach: 9.23 cents per $100
- Kure Beach: 26.58 cents per $100
Taxes can be paid via credit card, debit card and E-check payments in person, online at OSG Billing & Payment Solutions, or by calling 1-877-295-3383. There is a service fee when remitting payment online.
The New Hanover County Government Center is located at 230 Government Center Drive), or tax payments can be mailed to New Hanover County Tax at PO Box 18000, Wilmington, NC 28406.
