SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — Every Monday Port City Daily will share upcoming government and community meetings around the tri-county region. If there’s an item of public interest, it will be included, too.

Monday, March 3

The Wilmington City Council will hold an agenda review at 8:30 a.m. in city hall, 102 N. Third St. Meetings are livestreamed here

Tuesday, March 4

Pender County Planning Board will meet at 7 p.m. at Hampstead Annex, 15060 US Hwy 17. The agenda includes a request to rezone the Hampstead Hawthorne development to add 84 apartments.

The Wilmington City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in city hall, 102 N. Third St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Ordinance Amending the Official Zoning Map of the City of Wilmington to Rezone Property Containing 6.12 Acres Located at 5601 Oleander Drive from CB, Community Business District to RB (CD) to Regional Business District (Conditional District) for a Commercial Recreation Center (CD-10-225)
  • Ordinance Amending the Official Zoning Maps of the City of Wilmington to Rezone Property Containing 0.14 Acres Located at 102 and 104 Meares Street from R-3, Medium-High-Density Mixed Residential District to UMX, Urban Mixed Use District. (Z-4-225)
  • Resolution of the Wilmington City Council in Support of a 100-Foot Fixed Span Replacement for the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge 

The New Hanover County Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. in the Board of Education Center, 1805 S. 13th St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Financial wellness review report
  • Letter to NCDPI 
  • Dane Britt presentation 

The Brunswick County Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. in the Center of Applied Sciences and Technology, 1109 Old Ocean Highway. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Summer program with additional testing opportunity 
  • School calendars 

The Leland Town Council will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. for a budget Q&A. Meetings are livestreamed here.

Wednesday, March 5

North Topsail Board of Aldermen will meet at 11 a.m. at Town Hall, 2008 Loggerhead Court. The agenda includes a motion to appoint town representatives for a federal meeting with Congressional representatives, FEMA, and the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Cape Fear Public Utility Authority Executive Committee will meet at 10 a.m. in Jordan Conference Room, 235 Government Center Dr. An agenda was not posted by press.

New Hanover County Airport Authority will meet at 5 p.m. in the Airport Terminal Conference Room, 1740 Airport Blvd. An agenda was not posted by press.

Topsail Beach Town Council will hold a budget workshop at 2 p.m. at 820 S. Anderson Blvd.

The Wilmington Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. in city hall, 102 N. Third St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Amend City Code Chapter 18, Section 18-423 to allow a height exception for hospitals 

The Wilmington Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. in Grover Plaza, 1402 Little John Circle. 

Thursday, March 6

The New Hanover County Commissioners will hold a budget work session at 9 a.m. to be immediately followed by an agenda review. Both will take place in the NHC Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive and be livestreamed here. 

The New Hanover County Planning Board will meet at 6 p.m. in the NHC Courthouse, 24 N. Third St. Meetings are livestreamed here.
