BELVILLE — The Town of Belville is inviting families, businesses, civic organizations, and community members to come together to help local students prepare for a successful school year during Belville’s upcoming Back to School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Belville Riverwalk Park.
The Back to School Bash will feature a Flamingo Foam Party, courtesy of the event sponsor, No Sleeves Magic, a DJ, games, inflatable play areas (both dry and wet), food trucks and educational resources from community businesses and organizations.
The event celebrates the start of the new school year with family-friendly entertainment, vendors, fun and food — plus distribution of 200 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to students.
The Town of Belville is providing the backpacks and partnering with local businesses, organizations, and residents to fill them with school supplies to ensure children have the tools they need to start the school year with confidence.
The town is seeking donations of notebooks, folders, pencils, crayons, markers, glue sticks, binders, and other classroom essentials. Monetary donations and sponsorships are also welcome, allowing the town to purchase additional supplies and ensure every backpack is fully stocked. Donations can be dropped off at town hall.
“We know that preparing for a new school year can be a financial challenge for many families,” Mayor Chuck Bost said in a press release. “Our Back to School Bash is about more than just providing school supplies, it’s about bringing our community together to support our students and remind them that Belville is invested in their success.”
Volunteers can also participate in a community “Backpack Packing Party,” where donated supplies will be assembled into 200 backpacks for distribution during the event. Interested parties can contact the town or more information.
