WILMINGTON — Annually, the Friends of the New Hanover County Library host a winter book sale for two weekends.

Scheduled to begin Friday, Jan. 23, the organization has decided to push back the start date, due to inclement weather affecting the region and leading to icy roadways still being cleared.

The new dates for the sale are:

  • Friday, Jan. 31: For Friends of Library members only (join for $20 at the door), 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 1: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, Feb. 2: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Monday, Feb. 3: 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Feb. 7: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 8: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, Feb. 9: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Books are priced $3 for hardbacks and $2 for paperbacks the first two days, before dropping by a dollar on the following two days, Sunday and Monday, Feb. 2-3.

During the second weekend, book prices drop another $0.50 on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7-8, and on the last day all books are sold for $0.25.
