OAK ISLAND — A splash pad scheduled to undergo repair work this week and reopen Wednesday will remain shuttered for now.

The Town of Oak Island found additional repair work was needed on the pump motor. A guaranteed repair estimate is not currently available, though officials anticipate a Friday, July 12, opening. The public will be notified once repairs have been made.

Located in the Middleton Park Complex at 4610 E Dolphin Drive, the splashpad closed July 8 after the water pump failed. It was expected to take two days for onsite repair and manufacturer support.

More information can be found here regarding its reopening.
