N.C. Alligator Festival returns for a second year, vendors needed

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — Lake Waccamaw is holding a weekend of gator-themed festivities next month. 

The 2nd Annual North Carolina Alligator Festival will be held April 26 and 27 in Lake Waccamaw, N.C. at Elizabeth Brinkley Park. 

The weekend kicks off with live music from local bands on Friday at 6 p.m. Saturday morning starts with two gator runs: a 1-mile family fun run and competitive 5k race. Local craftsmen, food and beverage vendors, showcased antiques, and a foam party will be featured throughout Saturday.

Additionally, alligator protection information sessions will be held with live gators.

The day wraps with an evening concert from The Pink Slips, a Whiteville-based band. Local vendors, artisans, musicians, and food trucks are invited to register for the festival here
