WILMINGTON — The City of Wilmington is partnering with local nonprofit Cape Fear Latinos to host the annual Cape Fear Latino Festival.
The free event is scheduled Saturday, Sept. 23, to take place downtown at Live Oak Bank Pavilion (10 Cowan S.) beginning at 1:30 p.m. with a parade, followed by the festival taking place from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.
The day will feature an array of family friendly activities, performances from local artists, and more. A range of vendors and local non profit organizations will also be on site sharing information regarding resources within the community.
“Our office looks to foster engaging ways to learn and understand other cultures, and this festival is an opportunity to spotlight cultural awareness for our residents,” New Hanover County Chief Diversity and Equity Officer Linda Thompson said in a press release. “This event was such a success last fall and we’re looking forward to seeing its impact again this year.”
