NEW HANOVER COUNTY — Before the start of the new school year, a pre-K health fair is being hosted by the county.
New Hanover County Health and Human Services will host the event 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at 1650 Greenfield St. in Wilmington.
All students enrolling in pre-K will need a health assessment before entering a classroom setting. Assessments can be scheduled during the health fair by calling 910-798-3500.
In addition, several community partners and organizations will be on site to provide resources including a mobile dental unit, NourishNC, Communities in Schools, Port City United, SafeKids Cape Fear and staff from the women, infants and children program.
During the health fair, there will be face painting, games, book giveaways and more.
