WILMINGTON — Spark Academy, Beacon Education’s incoming early childhood education center, is welcoming interested parents to visit the school beginning later this month.
Spark Academy is located at 1802 South 17th Street in Wilmington. Interested families may tour the school starting on August 22, with weekly tours on Tuesday evenings from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.
Spark Academy will open in October for its initial enrollment of up to 120. Full enrollment will expand to 170 as the program and staff grow to accommodate more students.
This is Beacon Education’s second school in the area, the first being the Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington. Spark Academy is one of five planned co-ed, early childhood education centers introducing an innovative learning program for children six weeks through pre-kindergarten.
“We are opening Spark Academy at a critical time for many families in the region who are finding limited childcare resources and lengthy waiting lists,” Spark Academy director Leslie King said in a press release. King has more than 15 years of experience as an early childhood program director and decades of involvement in the education profession.
