MLK Center to close for a week

The MLK Center at Robert Strange Park will be closed next week for a sewer line repair. (Port City Daily/file)

WILMINGTON — Work at the MLK Center will take place next week and cause closure of the facility to the public.

A sewer line is being replaced, and the MLK Center at Robert Strange Park, 401 S. Eighth St, will be closed Monday to Friday, May 26. After-school programs will not be affected.

Most of the work will be done in the parking lot, according to the city, limiting parking. This is why the facility will be closed to the public, but the building will remain open for use for scheduled activities.
