WILMINGTON — After years of community feedback and construction, the City of Wilmington’s grand reopening of Portia Mills Hines Park at 400 North 10th Street will take place Tuesday at 10 a.m.
A $754,000 upgrade was recently completed. The park has new restrooms, parking, lighting, a pavilion, and sidewalk connections.
Phase 1 funding, which included construction of the restroom building, more lighting, including on the basketball courts, was paid for from FEMA reimbursements from Hurricane Florence.
The basketball goals also have been painted with new nets installed and a seal of coating was put down on the basketball court.
