WILMINGTON — Rescued along with a number of other furry friends from a hoarder situation, Blitz was taken in at an early age by the nonprofit group All 4 Cats (A4C).
“His mom was feral and she was terrified of humans,” A4C President Monica Filyaw said.
“But we’ve had Blitz since he was 5 days old,” Filyaw added, observing that Blitz is now happily domesticated. “He’s a pistol.”
A curious kitten with an inquisitive nature, Blitz is one of many cats that A4C is caring for.
“ He gets along fine with other cats, he loves to play with laser toys and strings,” Filyay said.
Due to the time of year, A4C has been inundated with requests to rescue kittens like Blitz.
“We are looking for more fosters that can take a pair of kittens or an adult,” Filyaw explained.
“We really need volunteers to help on Saturdays at adoption events, it’s just a 2-6 hour commitment one Saturday a month,” she added.
Located at the Petsmart in Monkey Junction at 5226 South College Road, prospective furry friends are on offer from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday. The adoption process includes an interview and a placement fee of $80.
“They have to meet with one of our adoption counselors and the process can take up to an hour,” Filyaw said.
