MONKEY JUNCTION — Just seven months old, Tiff was just one of a litter of stray kittens whose luck changed when they were taken in by All 4 Cats (A4C). As a non-profit organization, A4C depends entirely on volunteers and the kindness of their donors.
“We have rescued over 1,000 cats,” President Monica Filyaw said. “For the most part, our animals run around in people’s homes. We support our foster families.”
A friendly and inquisitive kitty, Tiff is not eligible to participate in local adoption events because she is FIV positive.
(Editor’s note: Feline Immunodeficiency Virus is a disease that makes cats vulnerable to secondary infections. However, cats may not show symptoms for years and many live normal lives. You can learn more here, although you should consult with a veterinarian. )
Tiff can, however, meet with prospective families by appointment.
“She’s wonderful with children, her original home even had dogs,” Filyaw said. “Tiff would probably like a large house, with four children running around to play with her.”

Currently being fostered by Filyaw, Tiff is friendly with other cats and enjoys rolling in sprinkled catnip. She is fond of humans and hopeful that a special someone will choose her as their next furry friend.
“For $80, the cat will be spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, have been dewormed and had their ears checked,” Filyaw explained. “Our adoption fee does not come close to covering our costs. We help Pender County, we help Onslow county, we even go so far as to help Duplin county when we can.”

For anyone who is interested in hosting a cat but may be unable to commit to a lifetime companion, A4C is actively searching for prospective foster families.
“If you choose to become a foster family, we will give you litter boxes, food… you give them the love, you take them to the vet- whatever fits,” Filyaw said.
Prospective adopters and potential foster families can access A4C website for more information, at www.all4cats.org. In person meetings with available cats are also conducted periodically at the Petsmart in Monkey Junction.
