Baley Edwards netted two scores and Courtney Dwertman assisted on both goals as Laney finished the regular season with a 2-0 shutout at Topsail.

The Bucs improved to 10-0-2 in league play to earn a share of the Mideastern Conference Championship. Laney heads into the 4A state tournament with a favorable seed in the playoffs after posting a 16-1-3 overall mark.
They will learn their first-round opponent on Monday, May 9.

Luke Frankeny and Gunner Philipp combined for 10 goals to lead Hoggard to a 14-7 win against Athens Drive. The Vikings improved to 16-2 overall heading into the next round of the state tournament.
