Get a taste for what the finest craft breweries here at home and across the globe have to offer this weekend at the Cape Fear Beer Festival.
The annual event returns Saturday to the Wilmington Convention Center, 515 Nutt St., with even more selections and a host of locally made brews.
Presented by the Downtown Business Alliance, a non-profit that aims unite, promote and support downtown Wilmington, the sixth annual festival features 100 taps from which to sample local, regional, national and international beers, as well as 16 wines.
Creations from the Cape Fear area’s own breweries – Broomtail, Check Six, Front Street, Good Hops, Ironclad and Waterline, among them – are included this year.
Leading the way in 1995, Front Street once stood as Wilmington’s only brew house, until Broomtail opened up shop several years ago, ushering in a wave of new breweries over the last two years. This year will mark the premiere of Waterline at the Cape Fear Beer Fest, with three of its beers – a Kolsch, a Tripel and a Rye – offered up to craft brew enthusiasts.
The event runs from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, with VIP entrance beginning at noon. Admission is $40 ($50 for VIP). Click here to purchase tickets or for more information.
