The Wilmington Family YMCA has promoted one of their own to be the new membership director.
Patrick O’Brien, who was previously the building manager, has taken over the position. In the past he worked at the New York Health and Racquet Club in New York City as an assistant general manager, at the Turner Athletic Club in Atlanta as a membership manager, and at Druid Hills Golf Club, also in Atlanta, as food and beverage manager. He has been with the Wilmington YMCA since November 2013.
“We are excited to add Patrick to our team,” Director of Operations Shannon Berg said in a news release. “His customer service skills and energy will delight all people who come into contact with him.”
O’Brien holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts. He and his wife Rachael have been married for 10 years and have a son named Holden. They are expecting their second child in December.
