Josh Chapman ran his goal streak to four straight games on Thursday as Ashley defeated Cape Fear Academy 5-1.
Chapman now has eight tallies on the year. He recorded the hat trick before halftime to give the Screaming Eagles a 3-1 lead, while Josh Barnello also tallied in the result. The Screaming Eagles improved to 4-0 in non-conference play.
Tony Batchler scored the lone goal for the Hurricanes off an assist by Robert Schuett. Al Cavagnaro made seven stops in net. Cape Fear Academy fell to 4-1-2 overall and will host Laney on Tuesday, September 1.
