WILMINGTON — A popular taco restaurant is two days away from opening another location, this time on Oleander Drive.

Islands Fresh Mex Grill will be operational on Aug. 1 at 4401 Oleander Drive Ste. E, formerly The Greeks. It’s the sixth location in southeastern North Carolina, with restaurants in both Wilmington and Leland.

Known for serving quick, customizable daily taco specials, made-to-order burritos, salads, nachos, and quesadillas, diners who patron the restaurant on Thursday, Friday and Saturday between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. will get a free taco.

“Our growth is a testament to our loyal customers and dedicated team,” owner Lucas Jones said in a press release. The first Islands opened in 2008 and has become renowned for fresh ingredients and expedient service.

Jones added a grand opening event will be announced soon, with patrons able to enter a chance to win free burritos for a year.

Also, Islands is hiring for various positions at its new space; resumes can be sent to info@islandsfreshmexgrill.com.
