WILMINGTON — This fall an R&B, hip-hop and neo-soul vocalist, pianist and composer will be coming through Live Oak Bank Pavilion.

John Legend will perform on Oct. 29 as part of his “Get Lifted 10th Anniversary Tour.”

Legend has released 10 studio albums to date, including 2024’s “My Favorite Dream.” But he got his start with the release of 2004’s “Get Lifted,” released on GOOD Music — Kanye West’s label, which Legend was the first artist to sign onto. The album charted in the top 10 on Billboard’s 200 and gave Legend his first hit track, “Ordinary People.” He also won three Grammys out of eight nominations for the release.

Legend was the first African-American to win an EGOT — Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony — and has worked with artists from Lauryn Hill and André 3000 to Alicia Keys and Kelly Clarkson. Today, in addition to touring and creating music, he also coaches up-and-comers on “The Voice” and won the 2019 season with artist Maelyn Jarmon.

His 41-stop tour kicks off overseas in May and by August will be stateside, wrapping in Oakland, California, on Dec. 9. Legend will be joined by a band performing all of “Get Lifted,” as well as a mix of other fan favorites and deep cuts.

Tickets to his Oct. 29 Wilmington show go on sale to the public on Friday, March 28; pre-sales begin Wednesday, March 27, here.
