ILM Rhythms and Tunes will be up and running, with local musicians performing in afternoons throughout the month. They’ll set up in the terminal by the laurel oak sculpture and play a two-hour set.
The goal is to welcome visitors to the area by showcasing Wilmington’s arts scene, while welcoming locals home.
“Our community is known for having great live music and lots of local talent. By showcasing these local artists in ILM, we have a chance to highlight that talent right here in the airport, Jeff Bourk, ILM airport director, said. “It’s also another way for us to continue to enhance the traveler experience “Airports are known to be the first impression and last impression on visitors, so this music program is another way for us to reinforce the great experience they have when visiting Wilmington and our Island Beaches.”
