WILMINGTON — While the Amazon series “The Runarounds,” filmed in Wilmington, received its debut date last week, the bandmates from the show officially announced Monday they’re hitting the road for a Minivan Tour this fall.

The Runarounds — made up of real-life musicians William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Zende Murdock, Jesse Golliher, and Jeremy Yun — will kick off a 19-city tour in Charleston on Saturday, Sept. 13. As announced by Port City Daily last week, the Minivan Tour also will include a stopover in Wilmington.

The band will perform at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater on Sept. 14, with tickets to their show on sale Friday, Aug. 15, here. A presale starts on Wednesday, Aug. 13.

The Runarounds are slated to drop their debut self-titled album as well, to feature two songs already streaming: “Senior Year” and “Funny How the Universe Works.”

The band came together from a casting call for “Outer Banks” and were first introduced to the world in a wedding scene in season three of the popular Netflix series. The intention from the “OBX” creators — Jonas and Joshua Pate and Shannon Burke — was to launch a new series that revolved around a group of high schools kids heading into the music industry abyss in search of their big break.

“The Runarounds” is part of Amazon’s latest young-adult content and will debut eight episodes of season one on Sept. 1; the trailer, which highlights numerous Wilmington spots, can be seen here.

The group has performed in venues in Wilmington before, including at Bourgie Nights, and toured multiple cities after doing the pilot episode of “The Runarounds” in 2022. They also recorded a live EP with Talking Heads’ Jerry Harrison.
