WILMINGTON — The Irish singer-songwriter Hozier weathered the rain at Live Oak Bank Pavilion on Tuesday.
“The rain also didn’t stop the crowd at this sold-out show,” photographer Tom Dorgan said of the show.
Hozier launched to fame with the hit single “Take Me to Church” in 2013, when it peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and certified multi-platinum in several countries. Hozier performed the hit, along with other songs across his three albums, including “Too Sweet,” “Movement,” “Cherry Wine” and “Work Song.” He performed the latter with Alison Russell, his opener.
The “Nightflyer” singer said it was her first time doing an acoustic set. Russell’s band walked out with her with an acoustic guitar, a melodica, a couple of shakers and a banjo and clarinet played by Allison.
