WILMINGTON — A local college grad will open for country star Clint Black this weekend.
Cape Fear Community College alum Travis Shallow will take the Wilson Center stage Sunday before award-winning country artist Black performs. Shallow, an Americana folk singer and songwriter will play a solo acoustic set.
“This is a full circle moment,” Shallow said in a press release. “I never would have thought as an 18-year-old kid taking classes at Cape Fear Community College that I would return 21 years later to open for a national act. It’s crazy, and I’m super blessed for where my career has taken me.”
During his time at CFCC, Shallow took courses in guitar and music theory with the aspiration to bring his songs and musical talents to the big stage. Since graduating, Shallow’s dreams have become a reality, opening for stars such as Gregg Allman.
Shallow’s latest single, “Hard Time with the Truth,” is out now and available for download and purchase.
There are limited tickets available for June 25’s show. They can be purchased online or by calling the box office at 910-362-7999.
