WILMINGTON – Award-winning singer and songwriter, Josh Groban, announced Monday, Jan. 31, his “Harmony” summer tour will take off this June, with a planned stop in Wilmington the following month.

Accompanying the platinum-charting musician will be New Orleans Preservation Hall Jazz Band, violinist and singer Lucia Micarelli, and singer-songwriter Eleri Ward.

The concert kicks off Friday, Jun. 17 in Detroit, Michigan, at the Pine Knob Music Theater, and closes its 27-date tour on Tuesday, Aug. 2, in Los Angeles, California, at the Greek Theater. Groban will be at downtown Wilmington’s Riverfront Park on Friday, Jul. 15.

Groban got his start as a rehearsal singer for world-renowned composer David Foster, and has gone on to release nine albums and headline six tours. He also has toured with symphonies and taken up residencies during his two decade career.

The singer has won Billboard’s Music Award for the number one classical crossover artist of the year in 2003, and has been nominated for a Grammy and American Music Award, among others.

He also has taken on TV, film and Broadway roles, and was nominated for a Tony in 2017 as Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical for “Natash, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812.”

Recently, Groban celebrated the 20th anniversary of his debut self-titled album, and released two new special tracks, “Roma Nun Fa’ La Stupida Stasera” and “Mia Per Sempre.” He also released 2020’s “Harmony” as a deluxe album, featuring six additional performances of timeless classics, as well as a livestream concert.

The Harmony tour will provide Groban the chance to perform the tracks for the first time since the pandemic shuttered the live entertainment industry.

“After far too long feeling torn away from my favorite part of my musical life, live performance, it is with huge excitement and gratitude to announce that I’ll be back doing what I do best and love most,” he said in a release.

Presale ticket sales begin Feb. 1, 10 a.m., and remain open until Feb. 2, 10 p.m., for Citi cardmembers. Josh Groban Fan Club members will be able to access presale tickets on Feb. 1 as well.

Tickets open to the general public on Friday, Feb. 4, 10 a.m.

For all who purchase tickets, a negative Covid-19 test or proof of vaccination will be required. As well, Groban’s touring crew will be fully vaccinated and masked at all times.
