Dropkick Murphys’ St. Patrick’s Day Tour headed to Greenfield Lake

Dropkick Murphys

WILMINGTON — Massachusetts’ favorite Celtic punk band will be hitting the road to resume its in-person shows just in time for St. Patrick’s Day 2022, after having to host livestreams two years in a row because of Covid-19.

Dropkick Murphys’ St. Patrick’s Day Tour will kick off Feb. 21 in Pennsylvania and wrap up with four shows in Boston, Mar. 17-20. They will land at Wilmington’s Greenfield Lake Amphitheater on Friday, Mar. 11, touring in support of their 10th album, “Turn Up the Dial,” released in spring 2021.

The punk rockers have a 10-disc catalog, dating back to 1998. They gained mainstream recognition upon the release of the Oscar-winning tune “I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” featured on Martin Scorsese’s “The Departed.”

Tickets will go on sale to the general public for $40 each on Friday, Nov. 12, 10 a.m. A dollar from each ticket will be donated to the band’s Claddagh Fund, which focuses on programs in communities that support children, veterans organizations and alcohol and drug rehabilitation.

California punk outfit The Bombpops will open the Wilmington show.
